US Air Force fighter jet crashes

A US Air Force fighter jet F-15C Eagle has crashed during a training flight in the northeastern part of the Atlantic Ocean near Europe.

According to the AFP news agency, the US warplane flew from the Royal Air Force base in the eastern part of Britain.

The plane crashed in the North Sea in northern Europe during a training flight.

US Air Force Capt. Miranda Simmons confirmed the incident, saying the U.S. Air Force F-15C Eagle crashed in the North Sea at 9:40 a.m (British time).

The US Air Force's F-15C Eagle is a single-seat defense fighter jet and has been used by the US Air Force since 1979.

RAF LakenHeath Air Base is the largest US Air Force base in England and the only base for US F-15 fighter jets in Europe.
